ETHIOPIA
The first batch of MASSENZA rigs for water well drilling in the AMHARA region has been delivered.
Each drilling rig is supplied with all the necessary tools and accessories to drill the well and installation of the pumping equipment is done via one of our service rigs.
The M.I.50 is provided with extraordinary performance. With 50 tons pull back capacity, it is the most powerful drilling rig ever to be supplied into Ethiopia for water well drilling.
Each rig is equipped with two engines, one powers the drilling function and the mud pump and the other drives the air compressor. This design can help make huge savings in terms of fuel usage when drilling with mud as the engine that runs the air compressor can be left switched off. This can be compared to most standard rigs which generally come with one larger engine.
Here below you can find the main features of the delivered rigs

All our drilling rigs are completely hydraulically driven and are very robust and therefore perfect for working in extreme conditions such as in Ethiopia. Care is taken to ensure the rigs are built to a very high standard and are considered as to be extremely reliable thus reducing maintenance costs.
They can work in a wide range of temperature from -15°C to more than 45°C. They are assembled on Iveco/Astra 6x6 trucks and they can reach even the most inaccessible areas.
In order to train the drilling operatives in the use of these machines we held training courses both at our factory in Italy and also on site in Ethiopia.
Each rig is provided with comprehensive instruction and spare parts manuals. As you can see in the attached images, the spare parts manuals are extremely detailed and incorporate coloured 3D drawings. This allows easy and clear understanding of how the rigs are built and makes the ordering of spare parts extremely straightforward.
